I begin each piece by boiling leaves and/or tree bark to extract dye colorants. I create my own spectrum of colors derived from natural resources. After the dying process is complete, I hand sew individual pieces of fabric together to convey my present state mind. Hand sewing to me is like counting the rosary. It is a way of meditation; a means of clearing ones mind of worldly thoughts.
